| Lipstick Jungle Information |
Lipstick Jungle has been touted as TV's next Sex and the City for it is a show based on another novel done by Candace Bushnell, Sex and the City's author. But the similarity ends there for unlike Sex and the City, Lipstick Jungle does not tackle the adventures of lovelorn women in finding Mr. Right. Instead, Lipstick Jungle focuses on three powerful women who would do anything to be on top of their chosen careers. And unlike the Sex and the City characters, the women of Lipstick Jungle are older, and definitely richer and more powerful. Lipstick Jungle is being produced by Universal Media Studios and is scheduled to premiere on January 20, 2008 during NBC's Sunday night primetime schedule. In Australia, Channel Seven has announced that they will also air Lipstick Jungle in 2008.
The core of Lipstick Jungle lies in three success-driven career women, namely: Wendy Healy, Victory Ford and Nico O'Neilly. These women landed the 8th, 12th, and 17th spots of New York's 50 Most Powerful Women list done by The New York Post. Wendy Healy is a president of a big movie company, Parador Pictures, that faces a tough competition. Add to that challenge is Wendy's marriage difficulties. Victory Ford, on the other hand, is a popular fashion designer and still single. And last but not the least is Nico O'Neilly (in other writeups, her name is Nico Reilly) who is the glamourous editor-in-chief of Bonfire Magazine, the sizzling fashion bible of the smart and chic. These three women will find just how much they'd be willing to give up and how much they'd be willing to do just to remain on top of the Lipstick Jungle in New York.
The lead female characters of Lipstick Jungle are to be played by Brooke Shields (as Wendy Healy), Lindsay Price (as Victory Ford), and Kim Raver (as Nico O'Neilly or Reilly). Other characters of Lipstick Jungle are Charles Lund (played by Julian Sands), Mike Harness (played by David Alan Basche), Selden Rose (played by David Norona), and Shane Healy (played by Christopher Wiehl) who is Wendy's husband. The pilot episode of Lipstick Jungle is still in production, but the three lead actresses previously mentioned were already confirmed to star in it. Lipstick Jungle will be one of the new NBC Television Network shows that will replace Sunday Night Football in the Sunday night primetime schedule once the football 2007 season ends ends early next year. NBC has already ordered 13 initial episodes of Lipstick Jungle so watch out for this entertaining pro-female show. This would be another addicting treat for your Sunday night viewing pleasure. Watch out for the debut of Lipstick Jungle on January 20, 2008 and stay tuned to NBC for updates on the show.
